Delete your GradeViews account
Deleting your account does not cancel a plan bought through Apple: cancel it in your Apple Account settings first, or Apple will keep billing you.
In the app — immediate
Open GradeViews and go to Profile → Privacy & data → “Delete my account”. Confirm, and the account and every child’s record are removed straight away. Nobody has to approve it, and there is nothing to wait for.
By email — if you cannot open the app
Write to help@gradeviews.com from the email address the account uses, with “Delete my account” as the subject. We reply to confirm it is done. Writing from the account’s own address is how we know the request is yours — if you cannot, say so and we will find another way to check before deleting anything.
Delete one child’s records — without closing the account
Open GradeViews and go to Profile → Children, then remove the child you want gone. That child’s record is deleted from our servers straight away, and from every device signed in to the account. The rest of the account — you, and any other children — is untouched, and you do not need to write to us.
One thing is kept on purpose: a note that the record was deleted, holding the child’s internal id and the date it went, and nothing else. No name, no grades, no school. Without it, a second device still holding an old copy could quietly restore the child you just removed.
What deletion removes
- Your account and sign-in
- Every child you added — their name, grade level, school and state
- Their class names, grades, assignments and missing work
- Their study plans, insights and anything you checked off
This cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.
What it does not reach
- An invitation another parent sent to your address. That one sits on their account, not yours, so deleting yours cannot reach it — only they can remove it. Invitations you sent go with your account.
- A record of how much processing the account used — counts and dates for our own costs. Your account’s id is removed from it, and it has never held a name, a grade, a class or a document.
- A record that a payment was made on our website — what was paid, when, and which processor took it. It stays because a payment can still be disputed after the account is gone, and because tax collected on a sale is held in trust rather than kept by us. If you claimed that payment with this account, your account’s id comes off the record and the email address it was bought with is erased with it.
- Your email address, if you joined the founding list on our website before you had an account. That was a mailing list rather than account data, so deleting the account does not reach it.
- Any record that someone on our team used the admin tools on your account — which action they took and when. Your account’s id comes off it, and it has never held a name, a grade, a class or a document. It stays because a record an administrator could erase by deleting an account would be no record at all.
None of this has to stay. Ask us and we delete it too — the same address as the deletion request below.
RevenueCat keeps the record of your App Store purchases — which plan, and when it started, renewed or ended — under your old account id, because Apple's developer agreement requires us to keep records of App Store transactions. It holds no name, email or school information.
Your documents were never kept
The photos and PDFs you upload are read once to pull out the school information, then discarded — so there is no stored document for deletion to reach. What deletion removes is the school information the app kept for you.
